Course Description

You will spend a full 6 month enrolled at our Training Academy under the tutelage of our master instructors, learning all skills & techniques, to be the best barber you can be! The main training facility is set up as an everyday working barbershop to ensure you build confidence in a realistic barbering environment to ensure you are Barbershop-READY.

If you are looking into becoming a professional barber, this course is suitable for students with NO EXPERIENCE, students with a little experience in barbering, hairdressers, or students who just want to build their confidence.

At Brothers Hair Academy, we pride ourselves on the fact that you will work on real clients, ensuring all haircutting/barbering techniques are carried out under the support of professional barbers to ensure you gain a Brothers Barber school Certificate in Professional Barbering.
Upon graduation, you will be able to cut hair regularly and deliver a wide range of hair styles, shaves . You will be taught the foundations of quality barbering by our dedicated team of instructors, who will help, teach & direct you, giving you the confidence to carry out all the Barbering skills you will need to move forward in this dynamic industry.
Our 6 month Beginners Barbering Course is a combination online theory, demonstration and hands on workshop & Barbershop experience. We work closely with major industry partners to help our students transition to a career in barbering through our internship and mentorship programs.

Qualification on Graduation:

On completion of the course you will leave us your Barbering Diploma, which will cover you to work either employed or self-employed across the Caribbean. You will be covered for all insurance purposes and council inspections. Depending on your chosen course, you will leave us with the practical equivalent (as we are training you the practical element of barbering) of NVQ Level 2 and Level 3.
Your theory is covered in an online format to allow maximum practical cutting time while you are with us, This is checked and discussed weekly. We do not cover the same amount of theory that is covered when completing an NVQ qualification, we cover what is required for you to work safely and legally as a professional barber.
We believe that the theory is essential to work safely as a Barber! But the practical hands-on experience is ultimately what will get you barbershop-ready. You will leave us with all your up-to-date Health & Safety Manuals and have a good understanding of all the Laws and Legislations of the industry. (These you can refer to as you gain further experience in barbering if necessary).
If for any reason you are not able to cover and complete the practical assessments required to gain your full Barbering Certificate, you will be asked to return to carry out further training. We ensure you get the best practical training by ensuring our students work mainly on live models and in our working Barbershop on voluntary paying clients.
We work only in small groups of 15 students to ensure you receive that one-on-one, intensive training experience. When you are trained by us, you will learn much more than just the technical stuff. You will learn how to make every client feel special and give them the confidence that only comes from being transformed by a true professional.
